The 2004 World Shakuhachi Festival
will be held at the New York University (NYU) campus, in
the heart of Greenwich Village. Considered a world-renown highly
creative community, the area has been a mecca for generations of
writers, musicians, artists and intellectuals. This is an ideal
location to explore in depth the historical, cultural and musical
beauty of the shakuhachi.

Dormitory Rooms
on the NYU Campus
Accommodations for participants are
available on the NYU campus itself. A limited number of rooms
and room-shares are available; reservations are necessary.
There are also many hotels in the area. Accommodations are
unadorned student dormitory rooms located in a residence hall
near the Washington Square Park area. Our group will be housed
in Brittany Hall, located at 55 East 10th Street, between
University Place and Broadway.
Linen is provided at check-in. Linen
packages include a small towel, sheet set, pillow, and blanket.
Linen exchanges are made once a week.
Laundry facilities (coin operated) are available.
Telephones and televisions are not provided in rooms. Public
telephones and a TV lounge are available.
All rooms are furnished with twin size beds, dressers and desks.
Reservations are based on double occupancy bedrooms in multi-bedroom
suites (2-6 people per suite). There is a shared bathroom within
each suite. |
